Chances of Girls Aloud Xmas hit slashed
Updated 02 December 2002, 21.21
The popstars girls before Javine was voted out
The chances of Girls Aloud - the Popstars Rivals girl band - getting the Christmas number one have been slashed.

And betting shops say it's because hot fave Javine Hylton didn't make it into the final line-up on Saturday night.

Not one bet has been made on the band beating the competition to number one since the shock results.

But Javine doesn't seem that bothered about losing out.

She told BBC Radio One on Monday she wants to put the whole thing behind her and get a solo career on track for next year instead.

Nothing wrong

Loads of fans complained about the result and claimed the phone voting system wasn't working properly.

Many say they called the line for Javine and heard a message thanking them for voting for Sarah.

But the TV company Granada say they have looked into it and found nothing wrong with the way the phone vote worked.

Both Girls Aloud and the lads' group - One True Voice - have also announced a live UK tour.

Let the battle begin!
