Updated 09 November 2002, 11.16
Queen
Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody has been voted the nation's favourite number one single of the last 50 years.

The 1975 hit has been voted to the top in a special poll by The Official UK Charts Company to celebrate its 50th birthday.

But the list is full of oldies. Not one single song from the last 18 years makes it into the top 25.

Beatles' tracks - including solo efforts - take up 14 places in the top 100.

And the only ones from the last 10 years to make it into the entire 100 are:

  • Kylie's Can't Get You Out Of My Head
  • Elvis' revamped A Little Less Conversation
  • Oasis' Don't Look Back In Anger
  • U2's Beautiful Day
Kylie just makes it

That means big pop faves like Westlife and Robbie Williams and even the Spice Girls have missed out.

You can listen to the top 50 run down on BBC Radio 2 from 2pm on Saturday.
