Jo's NOT leaving S Club despite back problems
Updated 28 October 2002, 13.58
Jo has a hereditary back problem
Jo from S Club has hurt her back and will not be performing with the band for the rest of the year.

But a spokeswoman for S Club told CBBC Newsround Online she is definitely not leaving the band.

Fans will have noticed Jo sat out of S Club's performance of their new single, Alive, on CD:uk at the weekend.

Rest for the tour

Jo said she'd like to go solo 'one day'
She said she's got an hereditary back problem, and has been told to get lots of rest.

"She's going to rest to make sure she's well enough for the tour next year, which starts in April," her spokeswoman told us.

"She has to have some physiotherapy but the main thing is that she needs to rest. She definitely cannot dance and she is definitely not leaving the band," the spokeswoman added.

Even though Jo won't be singing and dancing, she will still do interviews and TV appearances.

Solo one day

Fans were worried when Jo revealed in August she was going to release a solo single.

She had told Newsround she was taking a little break, although it wasn't the end of S Club.

But she also admitted she'd like to go solo one day.
