Updated 30 September 2002, 07.48
BBC 7
A radio show just for kids is going to be a big part of a new BBC digital radio channel launched in a few months' time.

It's part of a new station called BBC 7 which is an entertainment channel, and the last of a series of digital radio channels from the BBC.

Two-hour kids' show every day

Every day there will be a two-hour programme called Big Toe for kids between nine and 11 years old which will have loads of interactive bits.

Philip Pullman
Philip Pullman books could be on BBC 7
And every day there will also be five stories from some of your favourite authors like Roald Dahl, Jacqueline Wilson, Anne Fine and Philip Pullman.

The lady in charge of children's programmes for BBC radio, Ruth Gardiner, said: "we've tried very hard to listen to what children tell us they like and dislike.

"I'm sure we won't get it completely right at the start - but we'll be listening to their feedback once they hear Big Toe."
