S Club Juniors' debut single One Step Closer entered at number two.
But they were beaten to the top spot by the Sugababes' Freak Like Me.
And it's proved to be electric for the girls - who have had a tough time recently.
They lost band member Siobhan Donaghy - and were then dropped by their record label.

But it's a good start to pop stardom for S Club Juniors.
The group of eight, all aged between 11 and 14, were picked from auditions all over the country.
More than 10,000 kids entered the gruelling talent search - with S Club 7 choosing the final line-up.
