  Britney denies split with Justin

Britney has denied that she and fiancé Justin Timberlake have split up.

In an interview with MTV Italy for their news show Daily Edition, she insisted: "No it's not true. Me and Justin did not split up".

A statement was expected from her record company Jive later on Monday.

But they told CBBC Newsround Online the statement was: "We have no comment on the situation".

'Heartbroken'

The pair are said to have split a week ago because of their busy work schedules.

And their mates apparently confirmed the split, saying Britney is "heartbroken".

Britney, 20, has been going out with the N'Sync star for a few years, and they were engaged to be married.

In January, Britney even said: "We do want to get married and have kids and stuff like that - however, maybe in 15 years time."

Britney and Justin have been mates since they danced around in Mickey ears on Disney TV show, The Mickey Mouse Club, back in 1993.
