S Club 7: 'no truth in rumour' of split
Updated 06 January 2002, 13.56
S Club 7 won Record of the Year 2001
Chart favourites S Club 7 have denied rumours they are to stop their movin' and split this summer.

The News of the World newspaper reports the band, who won Record of the Year 2001, will never record together again after they've released a greatest hits album following their summer tour in June.

'No truth'

Fact File
Key successes
June 1999: 1st single Bring It All Back straight to No.1
2000: Hit second series LA7 starts
March 2000: Brit Award for Best British Newcomer
December 2000: Never Had A Dream Come True goes to No.1
2001: two more No.1 with Don't Stop Movin' and Have You Ever

But the fab seven say there's "no truth in the rumour".

They said in a statement: "We are starting a tour at the end of January, filming a movie straight after that and filming a fourth TV series in 2002."

They added: "There is no way that we are planning to quit. We came out of 2001 on a high with the Record of the Year Award for Don't Stop Moving and we hope to have even more success this year and beyond."

In October CBBC Newsround Online met up with S Club and they talked about the possibility of solo plans, saying "We're not under any illusion that S Club will last forever."

With the recent split of Five, Steps and Hear'Say favourites to part next, fans all over the world will be hoping the rumours aren't true.
