Boyband Westlife picked up the award for Top Pop act, and Destiny's Child won Top RnB.
Ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney was honoured with the first ever Hall of Fame special award, but he had to pull out of the ceremony after his former band mate and friend, George Harrison, died.
Instead host Jamie Theakston read out a statement from Sir Paul, who dedicated the award to Harrison.
Travis, who took home the Top Album prize, played Harrison's Here Comes The Sun as a tribute to the former Beatle.
Other winners were U2 for Top Rock act, Fatboy Slim for Top Dance act, and Nelly Furtado who was named Top newcomer.
