  Natalie battles CD pirates
Updated 12 November 2001, 17.13
Natalie
Natalie Imbruglia's new album is the first to be released with a system to stop it from being copied.

Anyone with the CD of White Lilies Island won't be able to play it on a desktop PC.

Nor can the songs be transferred to a Sony minidisc.

Struggle

Natalie - That Day
The anti-copy system doesn't affect normal CD players, but experiments have shown some other devices have problems with the CD.

Sony's PlayStation 2, some DVD players and CD players more than five years old struggle to play the album.

It's likely that record companies will use similar technology on many more CDs in the future in an effort to stamp out piracy.
