  Hip hop course for students
Updated 26 October 2001, 14.59
Sean P Diddy Combs
If you think studying means lots of geography and maths homework, think again.

31 students at Stanford University in California are doing a course in hip hop.

They're studying Sean P Diddy Combs' and Killarmy's lyrics on the Language of Hip-Hop Culture course.

Respect

Their tutor H Samy Alim says hip hop studies are getting more and more respect from colleges.

He says: "Hip hop is the next chapter of African American folklore. Its street cred is huge."
