The plot: A father, desperate for a miracle to save his son who's on the brink of death with a mysterious illness, seeks help from the wise old man in the village.

The wise old man gathers up all the baddies to make the miracle happen, by using their bad behaviour and turning it into good.

The characters: Yakov and his ill son Mikhail, the wise old man and his grandson Pavel and the seven thieves.

Highlights: When the thieves introduce themselves and say what they specialise in. It is also beautifully illustrated.

Any weak bits? Not really but then it's only short as it's aimed at young kids.

Unputdownable? Yes, because it's so short, you can read it in one sitting!

I didnt think it was possible, but is actually worse than her first book. Badly punctuated characters are totally unbelievable.
