In 2000, there were many people running for President but the two major candidates were George Bush and Al Gore.

George W. Bush, won the election for the Republican Party. His Vice-Presidential running mate was Dick Cheney.

The Democratic Party's candidate was Al Gore. His running mate was Joseph Lieberman.
