What is May Day?
Why do people get a day off work for May Day?
What are the protests about?

Demonstrators march through the centre of Mayfair What are the protests about?
People involved with the protests range from those who want better public transport to those against the fur trade.

Some people want to see an end to third world debt and globalisation.

In other words they want to see the power of the big trade companies and organisations spread out more fairly across the world and the smaller traders.

Targets for these groups include - Gap, McDonalds, Starbucks and Nike.
