  • 20 June 1982 - The war was formally declared over.
  • 1983 - Democratic rule returned to Argentina.
  • 1983 - Margaret Thatcher won the British general election with a huge majority.
  • 1990 - Argentina and the UK restored full diplomatic relations.
  • 2001 - Tony Blair became the first British prime minister to visit Argentina since the conflict.
