How did Britain react?
Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands on 2 April 1982.

Margaret Thatcher was prime minister in Britain. She ordered British troops to be sent to the South Atlantic to take back the islands by force.

The sea journey took three weeks.

Britain sent more than 100 ships and 27,000 personnel to take part in the war.
