Churchill stuck fast to his ideas - even when others didn't listen.

Before World War Two, he warned about the rise of Hitler in Germany.

After being Prime Minister he stayed as an important leader of the opposition party.

He spoke about worries over how Europe was becoming divided by Communism and an 'Iron Curtain'.

He encouraged talks between Europe and the USA - this ended in Nato being started.
