  School subject changes
What's happening?
What will the new subjects be?
Are GCSEs disappearing?
Languages at primary school
Languages at secondary school
When will these changes happen?
What about the Baccalaureate ?

What's happening?
The government is changing the rules about what you must study at school.

At the moment you get to study optional subjects when you are 14. This will not change, but the list of subjects you pick from is going to get bigger. Fewer subjects will be compulsory.

Why are they doing this?

The changes are happening because the government is worried that some kids are getting really bored in school.

Kids who don't enjoy school often bunk off a lot and leave at 16. They have few qualifications and get stuck in low paid jobs or get involved in crime.
