Sending kids home should be a last resort for schools Getting excluded
The government say that excluding pupils from school should only happen after other ways of changing their behaviour have failed.

Sending kids home really damages their education and excluded kids often get involved in crime.

You shouldn't get excluded for:

  • Bunking off
  • Turning up late
  • Forgetting homework
  • Being pregnant

You can get excluded for:

  • Bullying
  • Carrying a weapon
  • Drug dealing
  • Behaving in a sexually inappropriate way
  • Being very violent
