The Queen in the 1980s

The big royal event of the 80s was the arrival of Diana.

She joined the Royal Family in 1981 when she married Prince Charles.

The wedding was a massive event watched by millions of people all around the world.

Another big thing that changed how people thought of Britain was the Falklands war.

The Queen's second son Prince Andrew flew a helicopter in the war and came back safely.

This was a good time for the Queen.
