The Queen in the 1960s
The 1960s was a time of great change.

Britain had become famous around the world for fashion and pop music.

The pop group the Beatles were presented with MBE medals by the Queen.

Television was now the most important way of finding out about things.

In 1969, the first TV programme about the family life of the Royals was made.

When it was shown 23 million people watched.

The Queen's family grew bigger. Prince Andrew was born in 1960 and Prince Edward in 1964.
