The Royal Train in Cardiff Royal transport
The Royal Family carries out nearly 3,000 official engagements in the United Kingdom and overseas every year.

For this the Royal Family use lots of different types of transport.

They range from carriages for ceremonial occasions to state cars for visits in the UK.

For longer distances, the Royal Train and air transport are also used. In the past, the Royal Yacht Britannia was also used but this was stopped in 1997.
