Who decides if a food is organic?
What's meant to be good about it?
How are organic animals treated?

 
Who decides if a food is organic?
There are various bodies in the UK who certify food and producers as organic.

One of the main ones is the Soil Association which:

  • Checks organic foods are organic

  • Runs campaigns to educate the public

  • Helps farmers switch to organic farming

  • Carries out scientific research into organic farming
Another organisation for organic food is the Henry Doubleday Research Association.
