Is this latest epidemic over?

What is foot-and-mouth?
It's a highly infectious disease which affects farm animals like cows, sheep, pigs and goats, or any animals with cloven hooves.

In 2001 foot-and-mouth was the latest disaster to hit Britain's farmers, who have also had to cope with mad cow disease (BSE) and swine fever.

There were more than 2,000 cases in Britain and nearly six million animals were destroyed.
