What can I drive when I'm younger?
People younger than 17 are allowed to drive on private land, but they must have permission from whoever owns the land before they do.

Even so, it's important to be very careful.

If you're desperate to be driving a car before 17, one option is go-karting.

At most tracks you'll need to be older than eight, and you may need to be tall enough to use the karts safely.

You'll also need to have your parent's permission to go karting, and ideally they or another responsible adult should be with you.

Some tracks do allow younger children to have a go, but they use special karts, so you'll need to check with the kart track before you go.
