School gate Starting Year Ten
The start of exam courses. Things get more serious.

What will be new?

GCSE and standard grade teachers have no time to spare. From the very first lesson all work you do could come up in the exam.

This means if you drift off in class, dodge homework or are off school you risk lowering your grade.

What about my mates?

This is a hard time for friendship. You may be in a new class away from your old gang.

Not everyone can keep up with the work. Some people change the way they act to hide this. They might expect you to change as well.

Life outside school becomes more fun. You are old enough to do more. It's hard to concentrate on lessons.
