Former Home Secretary Jack Straw What is being done in the UK now?
Despite some pressure from the public, the government has said it doesn't want to pass a Sarah's Law (for the reasons, see 'Would Sarah's Law work?').

But in 2002, the then Home Secretary Jack Straw promised to publish a list of how many dangerous people are in each area, what risk they are, and what action is being taken to stop them hurting again.

This list will be published for the first time in summer 2002.
