Schizophrenia

This word is used to describe a group of disorders that cause distorted thoughts and perceptions.

Symptoms may include:

  • seeing things (hallucinations)
  • hearing voices
  • delusions (believing you are someone else)
  • paranoia (believing people want to harm you)
  • confusion

Schizophrenia is one of the most life-changing of all mental illnesses and can really prevent someone leading a normal life.
