Gameboy Advance Nintendo GameBoy Advance
The successor to the GameBoy and GameBoy Colour, the GameBoy Advance went on sale in the UK in June 2001.

Key features:

  • Handheld for portable gaming
  • 32-bit colour graphics
  • Cable link up for multiplayer gaming

By April 2002, Nintendo was celebrating selling one million consoles in the UK.

The Advance can also be used as a controller for the GameCube.

An updated version, the GameBoy Advance SP, went on sale in Japan on 14 February 2003, and in the UK on 28 March.
