Once again the tournament was held in Europe, although this time the Millennium Stadium in Wales hosted the final - where Australia defeated France 35-12.
But the match of the tournament - and perhaps the greatest game ever played - was France's semi final win against New Zealand.
At one point France were 24-10 behind, but they scored an amazing 33 points without reply from the All Blacks.
A late try for New Zealand made the score 43-31, but France held on for their win, although looked tired in their final defeat to Australia.
