Archers use bows to fire arrows at targets a long distance away from them.
The bows and arrows are really hi-tech now, but archers still need to be very strong to use them.
They are aiming to land their arrow in a tiny bullseye just 12cm wide, on a target 70m away from them.
Who are the British hopes for Athens?
The women's team will be chasing a medal, as they finished third at the World Championships in 2003.
Two members of that team, Alison Williamson and Helen Palmer, are in the British squad for the Athens Games.
Only one male archer, Larry Godfrey, will be representing Great Britain at the Games.
Who are the big names?
In the women's events the South Korean archers are the top names, having won individual gold in the last five Olympics and team gold in the last four.
The USA is also likely to send a very strong archery team to Athens.
