  Peter Jackson
Who is he?
What other films has he made?
Why did he get the LOTR job?
How come the films are coming out so often?
Was that him in the Fellowship of the Ring?
What's he planning to do next?

The Two Towers How come the films are coming out so often?
The people making the film, New Line, decided the cheapest way to do it was to spend 18 months in New Zealand shooting EVERY scene in one big go.

That meant they could build all the sets and costumes for just a year and half rather than build them for one film, take them down when shooting had finished, rebuild them again for the second one and so on.

It was very hard to make sure all the shots were exactly right, so between the films the cast meet up again for a few weeks to re-shoot certain scenes.
