Famous people and fur

Sophie Ellis-Bextor poses for an anti-fur advert Why are there protests?
Some people say that the animals used are treated cruelly.

According to Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), millions of fur-bearing animals are killed each year on fur farms.

The animals include:

  • raccoons
  • minks
  • beavers

Peta say they are killed each year on farms and in the wild by electrocution, drowning, trapping or beating.
