Gail Devers Gail Devers
How did she do in Athens?
Devers did get an extra spot in the 100m after Torrie Edwards was kicked out of the US team for failing a drugs test.

But Devers didn't make the final of that event, nor the final of the 100m hurdles either.

What Newsround said before the Games
Hurdler and sprinter Gail Devers travels to Athens having achieved something rare, qualification for a fifth successive Olympics.

Only two other US athletes have ever done it, and it gives 37-year-old Devers the chance to win a medal in the hurdles, amazingly something she has never done.

She's already won the women's 100m twice, but for such an excellent hurdler, it's a surprise she has never matched that success over hurdles.

Devers may still get the chance to win the 100m for a third time as sprinter Torri Edwards may be kicked out of the US squad if she is found guilty of using a banned stimulant.
