How did he do in Athens?
Jamie reached the final of the Keirin, but then disaster struck when he broke a small rule in the semi-final that ruled him out of the final.
The highly-rated trio in the team sprint were also unsuccessful, losing in the first round to eventual gold medallists Germany.
What Newsround said before the Games?
Jamie Staff used to be a BMX world champion, and was so good that he decided to take up track cycling for a new challenge in 2001.
And he's met that challenge with few problems, having won a gold medal at the world championships in 2003 in the Keirin event.
That's an event where consistency over a long distance wins medals, and Staff has proven an expert at it.
He will also play a very important role in a very strong British team that has big medal hopes in the team sprint event too.
