Italia '90 was famous in the UK for one reason - Paul Gascoigne's tears in the semi-final defeat to Germany on penalties.
At the time he had just been given his second yellow card of the tournament, meaning he would miss the final if England got there, but Chris Waddle smashed the crucial penalty into space, and England went out.
Ireland were also superb - reaching the semi-finals - but the final between West Germany and Argentina was awful.
