  Gun Laws
Could I own a gun?
Why do so many people in the USA have guns?
Is it any different in the UK?

What do anti-gun people think?

Are airguns any different?
Airguns come under different laws from guns which use bullets. At the moment there is no registration, and under-17s can buy and sell them freely.

But after several people were recently injured, many people want to stop people under 17 having access to airguns by making it illegal for them to buy sell, or even use them. They also want all the guns to be registered.

But this is all set to change. The government is planning to introduce new laws which will stop under-17s owning or hiring airguns. Anyone under 17 will only be able to use them if they're with an adult, belong to a gun club or at a proper shooting gallery.
