Will Young and Gareth Gates perform at CBBC Prom in the Park

Each week, you get the chance to review something totally fresh.
This week, we wanna know what you think of the latest TV show out of the Popstars stable - Popstars 2: The Rivals.
Geri Halliwell is on the judging panel
|
This time it's not just a battle to find the best singer or perfect band, but who's better - boys or girls?
Over the weeks a boy band and a girl band will be selected. The two groups will then release a single at the same time to see who can reach the prized number one spot in the UK charts.
Hear'Say were chosen by the first Popstars series

But will you be watching? Do you care? Are you an avid fan or do you believe real musical talent can't be manufactured for TV ratings.
Write something that's as interesting as you can, and make it between five and 15 sentences.
Alice, 11, Pontypridd I think Hear'Say were rubbish and manufactured
bands aren't that successful. There is no
hope for Popstars the rivals but S Club Juniors will have a future.
Caroline, 13, Cork I think it's no good and that the bands are going to be popular at first and then turn out like hear'Say.
LaTisha, 14, London I think that popstars the rivals is a very good and enjoyable programme. It gives the chance for others a time to shine and show that they too can make it large. Overall I would give the show a 9/10.

Emma, 12, Southport I like the show but it's just another cheesy pop band. I'm looking forward to Fame Academy more than I ever looked forward to Popstars because, as well as Cat and Patrick presenting, it's not all pop music. It's got different styles, and it's not all young floozy wannabes.
Christopher, 12, Glasgow I think it's a cheek that Geri Halliwell is a judge, she can't even sing herself nevermind telling someone else if they can or can't. I think the bands will be a flop like hear'Say. I can't believe I went to their concert.
Louise, 12, Ipswich I think popstars the rivals will be funny and exciting to watch like popstars and pop idol.
I always get addicted to these programmes!!

Emily, 13, Milton Keynes Popstars the Rivals is good fun to watch, but to be honest it is just a load a rubbish making another cheezy manufactured band.
Luke, 14, Birmingham The Rivals is wicked, I'm really into it but some parts of it are really kewl! I think Davina Mccall is a wicked host. I think the judges are wicked, Geri is the best one out of all of them.
Laura, 13, Southampton I love Popstars: The rivals! I love the Romanian twins Katrina and Monica! The show is very good, but will never have has much talent as Pop Idol. No one will replace the talent of Rosie Ribbons and Jessica Garlick (who were the best, in my opinion)
Lauren, 14, Norwich I think Popstars the Rivals is excellent and I think it's a really good way of finding the raw talent that's out there, but the one thing is that manufactured bands seem to die out after a while. I would however prefer it if they wrote there own songs rather than doing cover versions because then I think people can learn and hear the singers real voices and they can be proud of their own songs.
Emma, 13, Carrick Fergus I hate the way the bands are formed like that but I love watching the programme cuz I like seeing all the people who really can't sing but think they r wonderful!
