I have an action figure of myself!
Updated 03 May 2004, 09.33

Jake Lloyd played Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace.

He tells us about life after Hollywood, while at a fan event called Collectormania.

"The first time I saw my action figure I thought it was weird. I guess it was like having a voodoo doll of myself, but it's neat. I don't have one, but my mum probably does 'cos she likes that sort of thing.

Since making Star Wars I've just been going to school. I don't plan on acting anymore. It was a hobby to me and as soon as it became a job I stopped doing it. I'd rather finish off school before I do anything else.

Like meeting kids

I might do something in the film industry after - I love writing and photography, but there's so many things I'd like to do and try out.

Jake Lloyd as the young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode 1
This weekend is the first time I've done a public signing but it's not a problem signing loads of autographs. The only time my hand hurts is when some really big guy comes up to me and shakes my hand really hard!

But it's cool and really nice to meet a lot of different people. I love meeting little kids, they're really funny.

Fave thing

I'd like to live a normal life now, although I've never really been all that normal. I've always known how big Star Wars was 'cos I enjoyed it when I was really little, but it never really hit me that I was all that important, but apparently I am.

I love watching movies and they're my favourite thing to do - but I'd rather watch a movie now, than be in one.

Jake, 15, Los Angeles

Jake will be signing autographs at the Collectormania show at the MK Centre, Milton Keynes, until Monday 3 May.
