I was picked on by text message
Updated 24 September 2004, 11.51
Almas
Lots of kids are being bullied by text message or e-mail.

Almas tells us what it was like to get abusive messages over her phone.

"Someone I didn't know sent me nasty messages about what I look like.

It made me feel sad and very upset, but also angry.

I turned my phone off straight away, but I didn't tell anyone what happened.

I didn't want anyone else to know about it, because I was worried more people might join in and start sending me nasty texts, which would make it worse.

Scary

I was scared because I had no idea who was responsible, and I thought they might start sending even worse messages.

Almas
Almas is still sometimes nervous about texts
I don't know how they got my number, but I'll be more careful about who I give it to now.

Although it's stopped now, I'm still nervous sometimes about getting messages because I didn't tell anyone.

I think I should have told someone, so something could have been done to stop whoever was responsible.

If you get nasty messages from anyone, you should tell a teacher or one of your parents."

Almas, 10, London

Why don't you write us a Press Pack report - and get it published on the site?!

It can be about anything that's happened in your local area - or your views on the news.
