Students from Gaelscoil O Doghair
The Childnet Awards recognise some of the best sites on the internet created by young people around the world.

In our second special Press Pack report a student from Gaelscoil O Doghair school in Ireland tells us all about their winning website.

"Our website is about some of the myths and legends of Ireland.

Ireland has a wonderful tradition of music and story telling.

Our website is also about Irish history.

Creating characters

A female warrior
A female warrior
We created new female warriors to compliment the stories and to accompany the male warriors.

We had great fun doing the project.

We added sound and various other languages to the characters we created.

Lots of languages

We hope that people from all over the world will send us their myths and legends, and we will create an Internet site with all the stories from other countries.

We want to make everyone's stories available in as many languages as we can.

Re-tell history

Irish myths
Irish myths
History can be very boring in school so we came up with the idea that we could re-tell our history using multimedia, visual arts, and the Internet.

There is a lot more to do on the site as this project is only the beginning.

Childnet can help us achieve all of this, and also much more.

Sharing stories

Winning the school's section of the Childnet Academy has given us the belief that we can and will do this in the near future.

We would like to share our ancient stories with people of all ages from all over the world using the net."

Bronna, 10, Ireland

Why don't you write us a Press Pack report - and get it published on the site?!

It can be about anything that's happened in your local area - or your views on the news.
