Our website is all about inspiring women
Updated 12 April 2004, 10.30

The Childnet Awards recognise some of the best sites on the internet created by young people around the world.

In the first of five special Press Pack reports students from Ogilvie High School in Australia tell us all about their winning website.

"The theme of our site is Women's Winning Ways of Leadership.

Through various polls, forums, games and biographies of past, present and future women leaders, individuals can learn some of the traits and characteristics of a strong leader.

And can also gain awareness of their personal leadership potential.

The website is called Women's Winning Ways of Leadership

Ongoing project

Our website took six months to complete.

However, the project is ongoing and needs to be constantly updated.

When we started building this website, we never anticipated how far it would take us.

New level

It was originally an English project assigned to us by our teacher.

We then realized that our hard work could be taken to a new level by entering our website in this competition.

Our participation has gained us recognition which is something to be proud of.

Site improvements

Childnet has encouraged us to maintain our site by selecting us as finalists in this competition.

The prize money will go towards improving our site and ultimately benefiting our whole school.

Sharing tips

Being able to go to London is a great privilege.

At the Academy we will learn new skills and share experiences and 'tips' with the other academy participants."

Anneke, Anita, Courtney, Ayda, 15, Tasmania, Australia

Why don't you write us a Press Pack report - and get it published on the site?!

It can be about anything that's happened in your local area - or your views on the news.
