Lu tells us how she feels about outgrowing Harry Potter
"I was once a hopelessly devoted Harry Potter fan.
I'm not saying I don't like Harry anymore, but I think I'm just...getting too old for him.
Dedicated fan
I was obsessed with the HP series.
I plastered every picture I could find of him on my walls and made an extremely thick scrapbook of articles I found in random magazines and papers.
I tried out for the part of Cho Chang at least five times and I fell asleep to the soundtracks every night.
I even made my own Harry Potter teddy bear.
Like everyone else, I did everything possible to busy myself before the release of Order of the Phoenix.
When the long-awaited book came out, I read it and loved it.
I swore to myself that I would always be an avid Harry Potter fan.
But then, school started back up and there was a time when I was just too busy for Harry Potter.
When Thanksgiving break rolled by, I returned to Harry, but somehow, it just felt oddly different.
Moving on
My family is planning to move soon, so I had to pull down all of my Harry Potter posters.
I've neglected my CD player for months.
I used to read Harry Potter nightly because I enjoyed it, but now I read it because I feel obliged to do so.
I had promised to never let go of Harry, but here I am, letting go.
I never thought I would be doing this, but I've realised that I'm losing interest in Harry Potter and am going to move onto better things.
After you read this, think about it: Do you really like Harry Potter? Or are you losing interest deep down inside, but refuse to let yourself admit it?"
