Press Packer Julia met the stars at the UK premiere of Return of the King before watching the film herself.

In her report she describes what it was like having one of the hottest tickets in town!

"On the day of the premiere I couldn't get it out of my head that I was going to be there. I was so excited.

We arrived in Leicester Square in the afternoon and already hundreds of fans were there waiting for the stars to arrive.

Red carpet

Outside with the crowd
I wasn't expecting it at all, everyone was looking at me as I walked on what was going to be the red carpet area.

People were asking me if I had won a competition and I proudly said yes!

As time went on the crowd got bigger.

And when the stars arrived there was lots of screaming and cheering.

Star-spotting

Before the seeing the film I had the chance to do some serious star-spotting myself and even got to chat to some of them.

Emma Watson told me she was looking forward to the film and Alex Parks said she was excited as this was her first premiere.

But the best part was meeting the stars from the film - especially Sean Astin, as he was the one person I really wanted to meet.

Liked my t-shirt

He was really friendly and told me that his favourite character (apart from Sam!) was Gollum.

He also said he liked my t-shirt, which was really cool!

I also spoke to Sir Ian McKellen who told me that they asked him for his ticket when he arrived as they didn't recognise him!

I was nervous before speaking to all these famous people but as they're standing next to you, you don't really think about it.

They're just normal people and they were all really nice too!

Embarrassed cast

Before the film started Peter Jackson went to the front and thanked the crew. He then asked all the cast members to join him on stage.

That was a really cool moment, even though they all looked a bit embarrassed!

The best

Let battle commence!

The film was amazing - and I think it's the best of the three.

Lord of the Rings fans will not be disappointed.

And even though the film is over three hours long, I think you need that amount of time to explain the story.

Seeing it again

The battle scenes were incredible although I felt there could have been more talking scenes with the 'bad guys' - to get the other side of the story.

I can't wait see it again when it opens on 17 December.

Overall, I can only describe the whole night as everything I expected....and more!"

Julia, 13, Bournemouth

The Return of the King opens in cinemas around the UK on 17 December.
