I like watching the Diwali fireworks
Updated 26 October 2003, 11.05
Celebrating Diwali
Aaron reports on how he and his family celebrate Diwali - the Hindu festival of lights.

"My family always have fireworks and go to the temple.

This year we are going to meet all my cousins and have a big night of fireworks and eat Indian food such as samosas and pakoras.

New Year

We will have a nice time and hope that Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, will visit our house.

Diwali marks the return of the Lord Rama and is Hinduism's New Year.

People from all over the world will celebrate this wonderful occasion.

My favourite part of Diwali is watching the bright and colourful fireworks, as well as eating many types of foods!

Happy Diwali to everyone."

Aaron, 12, Wolverhampton
