Holly took part in the nationwide search for the next Children's Laureate and was invited to London to meet them.
"I got involved in the Children's Laureate search when I filled in a voting form at my school.
At the time, I hadn't realised it was a nationwide thing, I thought it was just my class.
Over the Easter holidays, my school called, and I thought I must be in trouble until they said I'd be chosen to meet the new Children's Laureate.
About the job
The Children's Laureate is really important, as they promote kids' books, although a lot of what they do you never get to hear about, like when they visit schools.
I'm really pleased Michael won, and I hope he comes and talks at my school.
If he can do anything as Children's Laureate, it's that I hope he gets more teenage books published.
Writing
I'd love to be a writer, I've already written several short stories and English is my favourite subject.
It's been great to meet Michael and the other authors but I haven't asked them for tips as I think everyone has to develop on their own."
