I'm worried about the effects of the war
Updated 30 March 2003, 17.50
School children protest in New Delhi
Apoorva and Mansi live in New Delhi, India.

In their report about the war with Iraq they tell us that they're worried about what the effects will be when the war is over.

"We've been talking about the war a lot with our parents.

But we have just finished exams at school so I haven't been speaking about it in class or even with my friends at school.

We go back to school next week so I imagine we will be actively talking about the war situation in class and with our teachers.

In India, war is the main story on TV and in the newspapers.

I've been interested in watching the news, I think it's important to know what's going on.

It's very sad though seeing pictures of destroyed buildings and children crying.

I am in a dilemma as to how to react to the war.

On one hand I feel that USA is being unfair to Iraq and its people by attacking the country.

On the other hand, looking at the whole affair, it seems that USA is doing the right thing right in helping Iraq to get rid of Saddam Hussein.

What next?

But after so many years we have realized that a war in one part of the world does not lead to disturbance in that part only, but the whole world.

And we are worried about what's going to happen after the war.

So far, in India, there have been a few protests amongst the children - as most of us are against war and want peace."
