I hope the war ends soon
Updated 24 March 2003, 08.55
Sachie hopes the war will end soon
Sachie lives in Tokyo, Japan.

In her report about the war with Iraq she tells us that young people in Japan have been protesting against it.

"In Japan, demonstrations against the war are still going on, including in front of the American Embassy.

We had a big meeting of lots of high school students against war at one of our parks.

My school is located in the area where there are many other schools.

People were handing out leaflets to the students at the station nearby telling them about an anti-war meeting.

I could not join, but some of my seniors and friends were involved in the meeting.

On the day the first attack broke out, the TV in my classroom was kept on all the day showing the live news from Iraq while we were studying.

We discussed the war and my teacher who teaches world history talked to us about the background of each of the countries involved.

We were eager to listen to his talk and thought a lot about what was happening.

I believe that all Japanese young people hope the war will end as soon as possible, before many more people lose their precious lives."

Why don't you write us a Press Pack report - and get it published on the site?!

It can be about anything that's happened in your local area - or your views on the news.
