Learning about life in South Africa
Updated 21 February 2003, 09.20
Learning about South Africa
Organised by Unicef and British Airways, pupils from Godolphin Primary School spent a day with a group of young South Africans to learn about their culture and their country.

"We had a interesting and fun day learning about South Africa from a group of people who came from Johannesburg.

We were split into different groups and we heard poetry and stories about life in South Africa.

They showed us artwork and we even tried out some of the games that kids in South Africa play - there was one game we played with stones.

Wild animals

It was really interesting finding out the similarities and differences between our country and theirs.

Some South African dancing

One of the most interesting things was learning about all the different animals in South Africa - lions, leopards and all sorts.

Bright colours

We were show some African dances and even tried some ourselves.

And our South African friends wore brightly coloured tie-dyed clothes.

Our whole class really learnt a lot about South Africa - and we had fun too!"

Why don't you write us a Press Pack report - and get it published on the site?!

It can be about anything that's happened in your local area - or your views on the news.
