Beth thinks teachers don't have right to lock the loos at her school.
"At my school they have closed the toilets during lessons and have said that you may only go if it is an emergency.
Surely if a child needs the toilet during lesson time they should have the right to go!
Strict rules
And if the child does need to go to the toilet they have to go through the following procedure:
- Go to reception to sign a book to say you collected a key
- Then you have to get the key
- You then go to the toilets and unlock them (in some instances you may have to wait at reception because the key has been signed out by somebody else).
Stopping vandalism
The reason for the above is that the Head Teacher thinks it will stop vandalism, when most of the toilets are very run down already.
Some of the toilets don't lock properly, there's no toilet paper and only three toilets in the block.
They say we should act like grown ups but they still insist on treating us like little children."
