  My Diary: Model
Updated 11 December 2002, 08.34
Teen model Jamie
Hello everyone! My name's Jamie, I'm 16 and I'm a model.

I work for Premier Models in London during the day, but I've just started doing my A-levels too.

This is the fifth entry in my diary.

November 2

I started the month on a good point - I did a catwalk show for Morgan. It was showing their new clothes - the spring and summer wear.

I wore things like silken trousers and combats. The clothes were really nice.

It was cool because the girls from Popstars: The Rivals were in the audience and Tamara Beckwith was there. It was really good fun.

November 18

Jamie's getting good catwalk experience
I did another fashion show at Top Shop in Oxford Circus. It was advertising the Top Shop clothes. It was really good fun because we were all in a glass box, and we were in there for three minutes at a time modelling the clothes. It was strange but it looked good.

Doing these kind of shows is really good for me because I am learning how to walk on the catwalk properly and am getting lots of good experience.

November 30

I got my biggest job ever! It was a 10-page shoot for British Elle magazine. I couldn't believe it! I had to fly out to Antigua and then onto the Caribbean.

It was amazing there. The setting was in the rainforest, and there was an old farmhouse which was slowly crumbling away. They took pictures there and on the balcony, and some with me walking around a lake. It was really beautiful.

I was wearing dresses by designers like Betty Jackson, Louis Vuitton and Ghost. They were lovely. There was just me and one other model - a girl from Russia.

Jamie said the Caribbean photo shoot was amazing
It was a really relaxing shoot. It was lovely weather out there and even the rain was warm.

After the shoot I had a day off and went round exploring the markets. It was great - all open stalls selling fresh fruits I'd never even seen before. And I drank fresh coconut milk straight from a coconut. The food was all beautiful there.

I've seen the Polaroids from the shoot and I was pleased with how it looked. But the magazine won't be out til February. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

When I got back I went back to college. I had to have time off for the shoot, and now I've got to catch up. English is getting a bit harder now.

But I've never been to the Caribbean before so it was such an amazing experience. I enjoyed it so much.

Come back next month to find out what Jamie's been up to
